Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

So I'm at work today... why? Nobody here has motivation... we are sitting around chatting over a third pot of coffee... but non-the-less... we are here.

Anyway, my turkey day will be filled with great things. My beloved folks are coming in town and bringing along my brother. He is alone this thanksgiving. His wife and little sweet daughter are in Minnesota with her family. I guess if I had my druthers I would have gone with her. She was raised on a turkey farm and her family still runs it. I bet there will be some good eat'n up there. I could have probably picked out my own turkey. "Gobble gobble gobble... BANG!!!!!!!!" Mmmm..... Anyway, my weekend will be filled with projects. My father and brother have no idea that they are coming up to be put to work. "Hey dad... can you bring your tool box with you... we might need your Saws-All for cutting the turkey... yeah that's it." What a better way to spend time away from work than with work. No not really... they are very happy to come help me with projects that I would probably kill myself or burn my house down trying to do on my own. Makes sense in my book. Here is my list of projects:

- Fix water leak in crawl space - we discovered a hole in a drain pipe about the size of a MoonPie. Not the double filled but the normal one... oh... but that double filled MoonPie is SO good. With a nice big cold glass of milk and.... I could eat two or three of those things in one sitting... I would probably feel like crap afterwards but it would have been so worth it. Sorry, anyway... it seems the pipe had rusted a hole in it over the course of about three years. So needless to say... I have three years worth of leaky pipes and mud under my house. Hopefully there is no major moisture damage, just a lot of wet soil.

- Fix Electrical problem in hallway - I attempted to hard wire and install track lighting in our hallway. We have been planning on making the hall our "Price Gallery". Ya know a nice linear place to hang a bunch of pictures. Well... my plans were foiled when I obviously did something wrong... so now there is no power going to the hall. None. I have tried everything besides re-wiring the whole house. I even tried to prove my volt meter wrong by grabbing all the wires with my hands... not one of my better ideas... but, I did not get shocked... like I said... no power at all.

- Put exhaust fans in both bathrooms - Not because I'm a man that creates an extraordinary amount of methane gas... but because we are trying to control moisture issues from the steam that accumulates at the ceiling when taking hot showers and baths. (please pray that I don't fall through the ceiling like Ken does)

That seems to be it.

Hope you all have a great thanksgiving too.
