HTM'elp
I am new to HTML coding and I am very interested in learning more. Here's my issue: I have not been able to figure out how to get my posted scrolling text to fade out just below the header. "2506 Edgewood Ave" I have the background fixed so it will not scroll with the text but I want to know if there is anyone out there who could guide my HTMefforts to make this happen. I just don't like the posted text to scroll over the title.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Our little Andrew - August 2005
Being a parent is a great responsibility. It's the second best thing from being married that I have ever experienced. You gotta look and do and say and not say... It's a lot of work that can wear a grown man out.
But when that child looks at you... sees his daddy... smiles and and says, "Ahhh.. gah, gah... Eeee... Ahhh... ". Your heart absolutely melts. It doesn't matter if you've gotten four hours of sleep in the past three days. Hair matted with a big zit in the middle of your forehead. You can't help yourself but smile and feel Gods favor on your life. Knowing that He has trusted you with that privilege and responsibility.
Our childrens lives are in Gods hands, but raising them in a home where love, encouragement, grace and wisdom is honored... that, is in our hands. Here are some photos of our sweet little boy celebrating his fourth month as our child.
I wish, I wish, I wish I were a fish.
Fish have the coolest eyes. I gotta admit. One of the greatest photography innovations is the "fish eye" lens. I love the peripheral view that this lens can create and the distortion that follows the edge of the circular frame is the best for some really creative shots.
I have a Canon SD110 Digital. I love it. It has been my best freeze frame friend for almost 3 years. The only problem with most pocket size digital cameras, is the fact that you are severely limited with the choice of lenses you can have. I was fortunate enough to find a wide angle lens on eBay that has a magnetic ring that attaches itself to the lens on the camera. Great find for only 40 bucks. But for most you have no choice.
Well, I'm gonna let out a little secret that I have kept hidden for a couple months now.
One day I was roaming around my house being creative. With digital in hand I walked to our front door, paused and was dumb founded at what my eye had seen for years... but never thought about. I moved toward the door and did what thousands of people do when someone rings their doorbell. I looked through the peep hole. Much to my excitement and previous knowledge... it was a fish eye lens. I quickly put the lens to my camera up to the peep hole and my heart raced. It worked!! I quickly got a screwdriver, pulled the lens out of the door and it became my new best friend.
Of course, there is still a hole in my front door from where the lens used to be... but I solved that by stuffing a tissue there. Yea, I know... but my discovery was worth it.
It defiantly is not professional lens quality but it sure is fun. Check em out!!!
So, with that said, I encourage anyone who has that creative bone in their body to go home tonight, rip that peep hole out of your door and start snapping pictures of whatever. Because if you were a fish... that's what you would see.
Running on empty
Just thought I would show you all what my piggy bank looked like after I filled my tank with gas this morning.
A bit of encouragement
I have recently stumbled upon Terry Storches blog. He has some great things to say in general, but the thing that got my heart moving this morning was his "Top Ten most Innovative Churches". New Spring Community Church lands number eight out of 300 plus thousand reviewed churches across America. I am so proud and excited to be a part of a church that God is moving in radical ways.
You're still breathing..... God is not finished with you. Get involved, because He has created you with purpose.
On the Music front.

Aaron, we miss you and wish you all the best. Our support and prayers are always with you.
Hope to see you soon.
Seeing a need...
One thing I love to see is when people see a need and without even batting an eye, they take care of it. My sister-in-law, Suzanne, saw a need yesterday and with out any hesitation.........did something about it.
I needed pudding.
Suzanne saw my need and gave me pudding.
Thank you Suzanne...... I love you.
Peytons Prayers
I think we all can learn a lot from a two year old.

****UPDATE****
The link is dead but the picture is precious.
O.k. so I'm Bias
I gotta say, Thats a cute kid. I know, I know.... I'm "bias", but dang!!
We just got done giving buddy a bath and he absolutely loves to roll around naked in a towel for a little while. Lets just say it's part of the scheduled bath time. You can't deprive a child of doing something that he loves just cause you have things to do. Get on the floor and roll around with them!!! We adults take things too seriously. If we could just enjoy the simple things in life sometimes, I think we would all be much happier. Now I'm not telling "you" to get naked and roll around on the floor in a towel, cause if you do.... please don't ever tell me about it.......ever.
Props
I just wanted to give props to Ken Wilson who helped me re-design my blog. Becky and I spent the evening at their house friday. As the girls mapped out the garage sales while Ken worked his magic. Through this I have now a much better understanding of HTML. I have a long way to go, but for now......
Thank you Ken.
Random...... I know.
I love pudding. Chocolate pudding. I think I could live off of pudding alone. If I was stranded on a desert island I would be just fine with pudding. Of course I like cold pudding. I would have to have a refrigerator to keep my pudding at a desirable temperature. Of course if I had a refrigerator I would have to have electricity, and if I had electricity I wouldn't mind having a radio. Maybe a laptop. My digital camera....... an xbox.....
......a lamp would be nice.
My Newest Theory
Over the years of being a professional I have spent a lot of time in my vehicle. I love spending time in my car. It is a time to crank up the stereo and jam to whatever kind of music fits my mood. When I feel chill, I love to put on some classical or jazz. I love hardcore and aggressive rock, Industrial, and electronic music. Like I said, it all depends on my mood. Anyway, my commute from Lawrenceville into Downtown Atlanta was an average of about one hour. Now that I am residing in Anderson SC, my commute to Downtown Greenville is roughly fourty minutes. Here's my point. I'm what you would call a "keeping up with the flow of traffic driver". Not too fast, not too slow. But, we all know what a "tailgater" is, right? O.k. I have proven my theory on average of four out of five instances. I have come to the conclusion that "tailgating" is a disorder. I believe that the person that is riding your tail doesn't even really want to pass you. Let alone go faster than you. My theory has been displayed several times. I get tailgated. I move over one right lane and retain my current speed.... and low and behold the person doesn't pass me. They in fact fall back. I move back into the left lane. They are right back on my bumper. Again, I move into the left lane.... yup, they fall back.
I have done this with fellow drivers many times. Enough times to where I think my theory is legit. Some people just have the urge to feel like they are being impeeded by the vehicle in front of them. By tailgating, they can have an excuse as to why they cannot move ahead faster. Because, if put in a situation where they could in fact drive faster, they have nothing to base there speed off of. They freeze up with the fear of the responsibility having to commit to the action.
Try it out. You'll see. Most tailgaters don't want to pass you..... they just want to be close to you.
The Rumsey Wedding
On July 30th 2005, Doug Rumsey took Lisa Masaros to be the wife God had set aside for him. Jimmy Bamberg (my great father-in-law) used the talent God blessed him with, to create a worship service with his words and encouragement. Listening to some of the very same words he gave to us, brought me back to our wedding day and was encouraged yet again.
We love you guys and wish you all the best. Enjoy and love each other and be witness to each others lives.
Here are just a few pictures from the wedding.
On this day, four years ago....
Today is August 4th. On this day, four years ago at high noon, I took the woman of my dreams and pledged my companionship, love, devotion and leadership to her for the rest of our lives. God knew exactly what He was doing when he united us together. That was an awsome day. I love you more now than I ever have.
United on July 30th 2005
Doug and Lisa were were joined in holy matrimony this weekend. A wonderful time was had by all. We are so happy and excited for the two of them as we pray Gods blessings upon their lives through support and encouragement. I will be publishing some pictures from thier wedding shortly.
The Priceless Movie Review
O.k. last night my lovely bride and I were hanging out with the multi-talented Wilson family. After the ladies Ebay'ed for a little while and Ken and I battled hornets, we decided that the movie "Cellular" was the reel of film we would spend over one hour of our lives viewing. As Damon Wayens would say with the little pink hat on his bald head, "Hated it!!" Dude. This was a movie that was (a.) Suspensful (b.) Thrilling (c.) none of the above. I believe I know what my answer is. A story about crooked cops who abducted a family because they were witness to an illegal robbery and murder of two gang members. By course of events, Ryan, who was an air headed beach boy that couldn't commit to his girlfriend due to major immaturities and irresponsibilities received a call on his "Cellular" phone. (hence the brilliant movie title) The mother of the abducted family played by Kim Bassinger, had fixed a broken rotary phone and clicked wires together until a call was made. She was a middle school science teacher and I believe "rotary phone repair" is a requirement in most government schools. Basically, she convinces Ryan that he must save the day, and he does. The bad guys die and the family lives. I did love the last line spoke by Ryan. He finally meets the mom and she hugs and thanks him. She says, "How can I ever repay you for what you have done for us?" Ryan replies....."Don't ever call me again." It was actually very comical. I chuckled. I can't believe that the script writers actually thought this would have been taken seriously. The overall plot of the movie was not bad, but it was absolutely murdered by the script and the acting. I realized that five minutes after the opening credits this was a movie I would never see again but I could not stop watching. I promote this movie for anyone who wants to get a laugh or a writer who wants to see first hand how to kill a movie. Oh by the way....... don't miss the closing credits...... they are truly.......Priceless.
